Background

As the daughter of two music teachers, Lilly’s grown up with a love for music. Ever since Lilly heard a friend play the violin, she has been fascinated by the violin’s rich tone, its ability to express emotions and communicate meaning, and the way it can connect others. Lilly enjoyed practising to obtain precise intonation because it improved her concentration and mindfulness. With this skill, she earned the highest RCM grade 8 violin mark in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick and a BA in Music in violin performance. She also enjoyed creating invaluable friendships through violin recitals at seniors residences, competitions with peers over speed, memorization and expressiveness, as well as fun times with family members around music.

Lilly has enjoyed playing and improvising in her university’s string ensemble, the Oakville Suzuki Association, at church, and more recently at the Rose Orchestra in Brampton and at various Mississauga retirement residences. She hopes to help her violin and piano students discover their unique self-expression and enhance belonging through engaging with the violin and the community. Lilly is a gentle teacher who enjoys working with students on the autism spectrum as well as neurotypical students to build enjoyment of music and community together.
