Andrew Kobelak

Andrew enjoys teaching beginners and young students but is comfortable teaching all levels of students, regardless of age. He enjoys sharing his knowledge about musical theory, arrangement and song writing.

Background

Andrew is a guitarist with a diverse background of playing rock, pop and classical music on the instrument. He began his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music with James Brown, gaining a strong appreciation for all the great musical potential of the guitar. He’s also always enjoyed picking up a guitar and playing in singalongs with friends and family.

Andrew graduated from the Regional Arts Program at Cawthra Park Secondary School, continuing many years of music studies, earning both a Bachelor’s Music of Music (BMus), and Master’s (MMus) degree from the University of Toronto.

As a guitar teacher, Andrew enjoys working with students young and old, intermediate and beginner, excited to share how lots of amazing guitar music is played. He also strives to foster a sense of musicianship and comfortable playing in students. He enjoys sharing his knowledge about musical theory, arrangement and song writing. Andrew is always interested in trying new repertoire and encourages his students to do the same.
