Jason is a multi-instrumental performer and educator. He has a flexible teaching style and is able to incorporate each student’s interests. He bases his teaching in proper technique so that the student is free to explore any style of music with confidence in their skills. Accomplished in almost any musical genre, Jay has extensive experience with live performance in jazz, blues, big band, Afro-beat, reggae, Latin and free improvisation.
Originally from Thunder Bay, he studied music at Lakehead University until he moved to Toronto in 1998 to enrich his skills in music at Humber College. He has toured Canada, performing from the east to the west coast and he has become an in-demand session man, appearing on several albums. He has prepared students for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations, and for entrance into music programs in universities and colleges such as Humber College and the University of Toronto.
